What to look for in a new boiler guarantee

What to look for in a new boiler guarantee

Published: 01-10-2018

Boiler manufacturers all offer different guarantees, so the choice can be overwhelming. With this in mind, it is always worth shopping around for the best products and cover. Read on to find out what you can expect from your boiler guarantee, and anything else to consider when it comes to protecting yours or your customer’s new boiler investment.

Legally binding

A guarantee is legally binding and adds to a person’s rights under consumer law. In all instances, a boiler must by law come with a minimum of two years cover but at Worcester Bosch we offer five years as standard, and in lots of cases our guarantees can exceed that generous timeframe. In fact, our guarantee promotion for Greenstar gas and oil boilers installed with a Greenstar System Filter has been extended.

What to look out for

In general, the longer the guarantee the better. A long guarantee demonstrates manufacturer confidence in the product, and that the event of something going wrong is unlikely. Should the boiler breakdown within the guarantee period, the manufacturer is obliged to repair or replace without charge. Usually to keep the boiler guaranteed, proof of an annual service is required, which is the case at Worcester Bosch.

Some boiler guarantees can also be extended to cover other products installed at the same time too, so it is worth checking. At Worcester, we offer this with any other Worcester Bosch products installed at the same time; for example, if you install a control or filter at the same time as the new boiler, the longer boiler guarantee will also extend to the other products, despite the control and filter only normally having a two-year guarantee if installed separately.

Terms and Conditions

It is wise to always check the terms and conditions of any guarantee to ensure that you are happy with the level of cover provided, and understand the terms to keep the guarantee valid.

At Worcester Bosch we take pride in our guarantees and our main request is that the boiler is serviced annually. Read the full terms and conditions
