What is Boiler Plus? Our video explains all
Published: 01-05-2018
- Our Boiler Plus video explains how homeowners and installers can easily meet the requirements of the new legislation.
- There are many combinations of accessories that can be fitted alongside any Greenstar combi boiler to meet Boiler Plus.
- Advanced heating controls, like the Bosch EasyControl, can even be installed alone and still comply.
Following the introduction of Boiler Plus in April, we have shown how homeowners and installers can easily comply with a useful video.
The Boiler Plus legislation now means that any gas combi boiler replacement installation in England must have a minimum efficiency of 92% ErP. Each new boiler must also be installed with time and temperature controls, along with either smart, load, or weather compensation, or a Flue Gas Heat Recovery Unit.
Homeowners and installers can easily comply with seven different combinations of accessories that can be fitted with any of our Greenstar combi boilers. This could involve installing a Worcester MT10 mechanical timer and Greenstar Sense I. Another option is to fit a Worcester MT10 RF mechanical timer alongside a Weather Sensor or Flue Gas Heat Recovery Unit.
Some of our more advanced heating controls can even be installed on their own with a Greenstar combi boiler to comply with the legislation. These include the Greenstar Comfort I or II, the Greenstar Sense II, or the Bosch EasyControl, our new smart internet-connected heating and hot water control with zoning capability.
“Any change to legislation can be daunting, but we are pleased to have every option within Boiler Plus covered to make compliance as simple as possible for our customers. Boiler Plus is a welcome addition to the heat in buildings policy and will no doubt be instrumental in helping to lower emissions and household energy costs while increasing energy efficiency,” says Martyn Bridges, our Director of Technical Communication and Product Management.
