3 scenarios where a Regular or System Gas Boiler is best
Published: 03-08-2018
In some cases, fitting a regular boiler or system boiler may be more appropriate than a combi boiler. To help you decide, we’ve outlined the reasons why you might not opt for a combi boiler.
1. The home already has a traditional heating system
If the home already has a traditional heating and hot water system linked to a separate hot water cylinder then a combi boiler might be unsuitable. This is usually the case because the heating system and its components may not be able to cope with the higher water pressure that a system or combi boiler operates at. Regular boilers however are ideally suited to cope.
2. The property is large
For large properties with more than two bathrooms, a combi boiler may struggle to provide enough heat and hot water for the occupants. A regular or system boiler with a hot water storage cylinder however, will ensure that the property is comfortably supplied at all times. When space isn’t an issue, the cylinder can be stored in a variety of places, even the garage.
3. Multiple water outlets are used simultaneously
Even if the property is a modest size, a combi boiler could be unsuitable if the household likes to use multiple water outlets at the same time. A cylinder-based hot water system on the other hand, can supply larger volumes to many outlets. Given an adequate supply pressure, multiple showers and taps can be used simultaneously - all without effecting the seamless running of the system.
Whatever the decision, we have a complete range of highly efficient alternatives for properties where a combi simply would not work. Find out more by viewing our range of boilers and hot water cylinders.
