Gas Safety Week 2024

This year marks 14 years of the annual Gas Safety Week campaign, where the whole industry comes together to spread awareness and encourage education around the importance of gas safety.

It serves as a timely reminder for everyone, as without regular inspection, sometimes gas appliances can go wrong.

This is even more important as in the UK, it is only a requirement for landlords to conduct a yearly gas safety test - not for private properties. This is always a bone of contention for us at Worcester Bosch. We can’t quite understand why that certain requirement isn’t there for private properties, and if anything seems like a no-brainer for the Government to change this. In the meantime, we want to support by giving our tips to homeowners on how to check their property and gas appliances are safe.

These tips are also for renters of course. Even though it is a requirement for landlords to conduct these tests, tenants may find that this isn’t taking place. Given that Gas Safety Week more or less coincides with the return to - or start - University, we’re also here to support those who may be moving into rented homes for the first time. For these, understanding how to check if their property and their gas appliances are safe is even more important.

So, with all that in mind, please see below for our top tips for homeowners and renters to ensure their gas appliances are safe:
