Worcester Bosch Sales & Marketing Director takes early retirement
Published: 17-08-2022
Worcester Bosch has today announced that Sales & Marketing Director Steve Lister is taking early retirement after holding the position for nearly 20 years.
Steve first entered the heating industry back in 1977 as an apprentice Heating Engineer for Scottish Gas. Ever since, Steve has plied his trade in the industry. Joining Worcester Bosch as an Area Sales Manager East Scotland in 1994, he quickly moved up the ladder to Director of Sales in 2003 – a role that later evolved into Sales & Marketing Director – before being named a Board Member in 2013.
During his time at Worcester Bosch, Steve studied for two degrees, taking night school classes for four years to complete one of them.
Whilst in his role in Worcester, Steve helped the company adapt to the 2005 legislative change mandating condensing boilers as well as helping map out the initial steps as Worcester Bosch shifts – even to this day – towards a low carbon future, through industry-leading technology innovation.
Known for his honesty and commitment to his team, Steve’s larger than life personality was hailed a big contribution to the company by many fellow employees.
Steve Lister commented:
“It has been an honour to be a part of this historic company and watch it evolve and change over the last near three decades to the industry leader in heating it is today. I have made some truly great friends – colleagues and customers – during my time here.
“I’m particularly proud of how the company has grown its investment into local communities and charities over the years. I’m now looking forward to spending some quality time with my family, whilst keeping a close eye on how the company and industry will continue to evolve towards a low carbon future.
“I want to say a big thank you to my colleagues and customers, without whom this experience would not have been as rewarding.”
Carl Arntzen, CEO of Worcester Bosch, commented:
“Anyone who knows Steve knows what a character he is within our business and indeed our industry. He is a key part of our company’s 60-year history. We would like to thank Steve for his outstanding contribution to the unparalleled growth of Worcester Bosch during his career with us and I’m sure the industry will join us in wishing him every happiness in his retirement.”
