Bringing warmth to the community with a new boiler for Changes UK
Published: 05-12-2022
When a charity that has been serving their community for over a decade was faced with a boiler failure, it looked like they may have to close their doors. That’s until we donated a brand new boiler and local installer Adam Bailey stepped in to install it free of charge to a charity that makes a world of difference to their community.
Changes UK, based in Birmingham, provide accommodation for those suffering from addiction and create a safe space for detoxing and enrolling in a recovery programme. As they house those struggling with addiction at their facility, the boiler breakdown jeopardised their ability to continue making positive change.
Local gas installer Adam Bailey stepped in to provide his services free of charge in partnership with our ‘Warming Your Community’ initiative that launched last year and is centred on donating brand-new heating systems to organisations that serve their local area.
At the heart of Warming Your Community is a collaboration with local installers to give back to those who make a positive difference. Changes UK is a peer led organisation meaning that all of the qualified staff have first-hand experience with addiction. They are focused on transforming lives.
Installer Adam Bailey had this to say “Having worked with Worcester Bosch for many years, I was aware of the Warming Your Community initiative. Being local to the area, Changes UK have made such a strong impact to our community and when we heard they were struggling with a boiler failure, I knew we had to do something about it. They do wonderful work and we were all delighted to get the new boiler fitted so they can continue to transform people’s lives.”
Nic Romero from Changes UK was elated with the installation. “You can never prepare for problems like these and as we are accommodation focused, the living conditions need to be suitable. When we received word that Adam was going to install a donated Worcester Bosch boiler we were over the moon! We greatly appreciate the generosity of Adam and Worcester Bosch for lending us a helping hand.”
Sue Pennington, our Corporate Communications Manager, said: “We are delighted to have helped an organisation that gives so much to their community. It’s a privilege to be able to give back and we are happy to help wherever we can. We know they will keep doing the great work they do transforming lives and we are honoured to have been able to contribute.’’
Warming Your Community will continue in 2023, keep an eye on our social media channels to find out more and make your nominations!
